About

Chabot in Porto, 2019

Renée Chabot is a Swiss artist with Dutch-Polish roots, who morphs her inter-disciplinary professional background of photography, architecture and light design into an experimental body of work. Each project sounds out the boundaries of the inseparable twins of the “material and immaterial”. Simultaneously it is a dialogue about the power of perception and thresholds in photography, a work concept she calls “Dematerializations”. Her photographic experiments weave together photography with aspects of painting, sculpture and animation.

With exhibitions and photographic festivals in the UK, Portugal, Brazil, Switzerland and France, her work resides in international private collections and one museum. After many years abroad, she returned to Switzerland in autumn 2020.
